Experience of a Kaplan Student revised

Hi everybody out there is cyberworld. This is shanel. I am going to try to keep this short ans sweet as I can because I know sometime I can get long winded. I am a mom, wife, a full time student going to Kaplan University and a full time employee at DSS. So yes, I have a full time job and I maintain my family and I go to school full time online. I don't know how I do it, it is by the grace of God. But anyway, this is for anybody who it thinking about going to school online or has thought about it and changed their mind. I think going to school online is absolutely wonderful. It has been a great experience for me. I've been at Kaplan University now for 3 yrs, I'll be finished with my bachelors degree in December. The experience had been wonderful. The things I enjoyed about being an online student it that i get to do it from my home. It's private, theres no classroom, there are not a whole lot of students in my face. You don't have to worry about being in class and answering questions wrong or asking crazy questions and everyone looking at you like you don't know what you are talking about. I just love the convenience. At first I didn't think I was going to be able to handle it but the teacher are absolutely wonderful. They reach out to you and give you words of encouragment and show you ways to maintain and keep your grades up and do everything at the same time. They completely understand that we are students and have lives outside of going to school because most of the teachers work outside of teaching online. They understand how I feel when I am working and have to make myself sit down to a computer and do homework. Going to school online is convenient for me. Another thing that I lilke about it is the fact that they work around my schedule. They offer classes usually twice a week, so if I can't go to class on a Monday, I can go on Wednesday. It is just so convenient. I also made a lot of new friends. I didn't think I was going to actually keep in touch with any of these people but with all the new technology, facebook, twitter, blogs, microblogs and podcast, like what I am doing now, it is easy to get in touch and stay in touch. And I just need to stress this again because it is the best part about going to school online. Convenience. You get to to do it at home, whenever it is best for you and you don't have to worry about being late or anything like that. It is based around your schedule and  I love that. So if anybody is thinking about it, I pray you think about it, give it a try before you dismiss it because if I can do it with five children and a full time job, then you can do it as well. It was a great experience for me. I thought this would be short but anyway, I'm done and I hope to see some of you in class sometime, talk to you later, bye.

Experience from a Kaplan Student

Hi, This is for every man, woman, young or old who is thinking about or is already a new college student.

This is coming from a mom, a wife, an employee and a full time student. I know it sounds overwhelming. Yes it was at first. I did not know how I was going to manage everything without cracking up. I am here to tell you that you can do it. My Kaplan advisors held my hand and offered advice when they saw my grades were slipping. They were there to encourage me when I was on the right track. I suggest that you reach out to your advisors, professors and classmates. They all know how you are feeling because many of them have been where you now are. Just hold on, take it one assignment at a time. Organize your time and stick to your schedule. Communicate with someone when your are getting tired, frustrated and at your wits end. You can do it.
