Hi, This is for every man, woman, young or old who is thinking about or is already a new college student.
This is coming from a mom, a wife, an employee and a full time student. I know it sounds overwhelming. Yes it was at first. I did not know how I was going to manage everything without cracking up. I am here to tell you that you can do it. My Kaplan advisors held my hand and offered advice when they saw my grades were slipping. They were there to encourage me when I was on the right track. I suggest that you reach out to your advisors, professors and classmates. They all know how you are feeling because many of them have been where you now are. Just hold on, take it one assignment at a time. Organize your time and stick to your schedule. Communicate with someone when your are getting tired, frustrated and at your wits end. You can do it.
I can relate. I am in my last term and I will officially be done next week and am beyond thrilled. It has been a long road and I finished in 3 years with my Bachelors, but being a full time mother and working side jobs with a house full of kids, and towards the end being pregnant was a lot to take on but it can be done. I am beyond excited that I will be done with my degree before we have the next baby because I am due in only 8 weeks. I think you make good points about reaching out. If you do not reach out then people will not realize you are struggling and sometimes life happens to everyone and we all have different situations that are going on. But I honestly think the people at Kaplan go above and beyond to make sure they can do everything for you. And they are the reason I am able to say that I am graduating with honors. Good luck with the rest of your journey, and have happy holidays. :)
